officers at the San Antonio Police Department tested the
Scanlite for six months. During the trial, the department
uncovered many hidden weapons without touching a suspect."

TX Fellow Officers. I know that this really isn't the venue to promote new products that are the market, but I've seen and used this new Tactical ScanLite and find it an excellent revolutionary product. Just a personal appreciation for new tools that make our life safer. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 04/10/2006 Tactical ScanLite Used At Recent Former President Bush Visit to San Antonio SAN ANTONIO – George H. W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States, will present Trinity University’s Flora Cameron Lecture on Politics and Public Affairs at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, in Laurie Auditorium. Roger, Other than a small group of uniformed protesters outside of our property, the event was a success. Thanks for the use of 10 additional tactical scanlites to augment our forces. I genuinely believe these units enhanced our security measures to a higher level. These units’ compact size and unique features enables our officers to carry them discretely without sending any signals to the general public of an increased security measure. On another note the U.S. Secret Service agents were pleasantly surprised and pleased to see us using these units. I believe the visit of former President Bush Senior to the distinguished lecture series held here at Trinity University was a resounding success based on your continued support. Once again I would like to thank you on behalf of our department and we look forward to our continued partnerships in the future. Respectfully, Sergeant Edgar E. Castro B.S. Castro, Sergeant Trinity University Police San Antonio, Texas The size of these units allows our officers working distinguished visitor visits in plain clothes or in uniform to passively use them without drawing attention. To the average citizen it looks like a regular flash light. We paid $149.00 per unit and because they are rechargeable we have not had any failures. We dont have to worry about battery replacement cost either. As for the support, the vendor has been extremely helpful. Recently a modification was made to change the bulbs to LED; this was done by the vendor at no cost to us. In fact the lights are even brighter now. Overall, our officers like this new innovation as opposed to carrying and handling the larger metal detector units. |
